New Year’s Workout Resolution Not Working?
Did you make a workout resolution for the New Year to go to the gym?
January has come and gone and we’re well into February. That means it’s time to assess your progress and make any needed adjustments. It’s really no different than a job performance review.
For those of you who are still going to the gym like you said you would, congratulations. For the rest of you, you’re not a bad person if you didn’t. We just need to find out what went wrong.
- Being in the gym is different than getting to the gym. Not having enough time for both travel and working out is a huge factor. Not everyone has a gym a mile or two from their house.
- Kids’ schedule interfered. School schedules. Activities before and after school and then on the weekends. Reduced days when kids get out of school early. Seriously, my grand kids spend huge amounts of time out of school due to reduced days, holidays, parent-teacher conferences, you name it. It’s hard for parents to juggle that time.
- Work. Perhaps your boss needed you to work overtime to meet a deadline or pick up extra hours due to sick coworkers.
- Illness. It’s cold and flu season. If you got sick, it can knock you out for several weeks. Or, maybe you’re taking care of someone else who is sick.
- Time. Not enough time in the day to take care of yourself because you’re too busy taking care of everyone else.
Some people call these excuses. I call them life. Stuff happens. Yes, getting and staying in shape is important, but other things come along that take priority and have to be dealt with now.
Free Workout Videos
If you have a computer, all you need is about 30 minutes and a set of resistance bands. You don’t have to leave the house and you can workout anytime of the day or night. Bodylastics has put together free live streaming videos for men, women and teens. Live chat, too. I use it with my laptop out in the living room and hook it up to one of the HDMI connectors on my flat screen TV.
If you can’t catch a live show, they’re all recorded. You can pick and choose and watch which ever show you want, when ever you want.
Chiseled: An explosive strength training show for men or anyone who wants a chiseled body. Trainer Blake Kassel, the creator of Bodylastics bands, doesn’t mess around. I dare you to keep up. If you’ve been a couch potato for too long, you won’t be able keep up with Blake. However, still go through the motions with less resistance. Need to know how much resistance that is? Click on the Free Bodylastics Download link in the menu bar.
Silhouette: A toning and slimming show for woman. No bulking up exercise here, but not wimpy workouts, either.
TX2: An after school show for teens. Teens have it rough. Their voices are cracking, their bodies are changing, and they’ve got self-esteem issues. TX2 renews their confidence and teaches them how to take care of their growing bodies.
There’s also a kids show coming soon to be shown on Saturday and Sunday mornings. No date has been announced, but we’ll keep you informed.
Super-charge fat loss with resistance training. No weights, no gym, no kidding. Get a total body workout where ever you go with this amazing resistance training home gym system from Bodylastics. It's so small it fits in a briefcase, gym bag, backpack or purse.
