Question:
im not trying to build muscle”" im jst trying to loose my thigh and tum fat

Answer:

To LOSE fat, not loose, doing cardio like walking or running is mostly determined by the length of time that you do it. They more calories you want to burn, the longer you have to do it. That’s why cardio is not a very efficient way to lose fat.

Also, you cannot target fat loss on your thighs and belly. They body decides where the fat will be lost. You can target muscles to strengthen and build them, but not fat.

Resistance training with resistance bands is a far more effective way to lose fat. Workouts are short and intense. The more lean muscle you have, the more fat you’ll burn. You can literally turn your body into a Fat Burning Furnace with resistance training.

Click here to see the free workouts show offered by the makers of Bodylastics resistance bands.

Question:
I used to be an avid weight-lifter in high school, and still dabble every now and then. Later in high school (it must have been very gradual) I noticed that my arms would not unbend all the way. I would actually laugh about it with friends, because it didn’t seem like a big deal at the time, and I figured it was just from working out and having developed muscles. Now, roughly ten years later, my elbows hurt when I lift anything even mildly heavy (groceries, my son, etc.). It is a burning sensation in the elbows, and if I lift something significantly heavy the pain might persist on and off throughout the day. It aches pretty bad, and almost feels like the elbows need to pop but cannot. I have been told by a family doctor that this is probably tendinitis, and he would recommend physical therapy if not for me not having health insurance. He suggests searching for “elbow exercises” on the internet. Does anybody have any experience with dealing with/curing this problem? Apparently is it quite curable. I would love to be able to get into weightlifting again and do simple chores without my elbows aching so badly. Any suggestions or similar stories are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:

I had “tennis elbow” once. Got it from pulling my grandson in a wagon on the grass. Very painful. Doc told me to go to Walmart and get an arm band for tennis elbow. Google it. It’s a strap with Velcro that placed on the forearm just before the elbow. I wore that for a few weeks and it worked like a charm.

Allow it to heal before you attempt any exercises. When you’re ready, weight lifting is too high impact. Do resistance bands, instead. They are low impact with smooth resistance with no jerking. Physical therapists highly recommend them. Click here to see the Bodylastics resistance bands. They are the best and extremely affordable.

Question:
Or can you do a set of 10 about 3 or 4 times and that’s it. The magazines(Maximum Fitness) tell you that you only need to do about 3 to 4 sets of 10. Is everybody’s body different or do you have to do a lot of reps. Someone said in an article once, “Would you do 50 to 75 bicep curls? Of course not, so why would you do 50 to 75 reps of a ab exercise?” It made me think, hmmm….? So what is the truth on this?

Answer:

Maximum Fitness is correct. Low reps, BUT you have to use the right amount of resistance. How much is the right amount? By the 10th rep, you should be barely able to do that last rep.

By the way, all the ab exercises in the world won’t show that 6-pack if you have a layer of fat hiding them. Isolation exercises like ab workouts only target those specific muscles, not the fat over the muscles. You can’t target fat loss. You body loses fat all over.

Click here for a free online workout show called Eight Pack. All you need is a set of Bodylastics resistance bands.

Question:
About 1 1/2 months ago, I started a new fitness plan. To be short, here’s a list of what I’m doing:

Diet – drinking a protein shake and eating one whole veggie/fruit with every meal (also eating a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack), consuming no more than 2000 calories a day (maybe less).

Workout – for the first month, I did cardio (a combo of running and walking) for 30 minutes every day. Now, starting last week, I do cardio 4 days a week and weight lifting 3 days a week.

From what I’ve read, they say “increase your workouts…” I’m already running a 8.5 minute mile and lifting with as much as 40 lbs. on free weights. I’m not looking to bulk up as I am already short and stocky (5’6″ and 223 lbs.)

I am shooting for 185…PLEASE HELP! I’ve even starting varying my workouts doing “random” exercises so my body doesn’t get used to the same ol’ thing.

I realize I have to be patient. But after melting off about 20 lbs. so far, I want the rate of losing weight to remain constant.

Answer:

Quit doing so much cardio. Increase the strength training. HIIT – High Intensity Interval Training. More resistance, fewer reps, less time working out. So i live in a small town with no gyms with in miles. I really don’t have the resources that most people do, But i know there are ways to get bigger pecks by doing work outs you can do at home.
Not to worry. You don’t need a gym.

Question:
I couldn’t try-out for my schools baseball team this year because I hurt my arm. So now, I’m getting ready for next season when I can actually throw. I talked to the coach and he said it would be a good idea if I got a real strong core. I read up on it and I found out that I need to lower my body fat percentage to at least 12% to even see my core muscles. My current body fat percentage is 13.9%. I’m currently following the abdominal work out sessions on Gilad’s DVD, “Core And More.” Do I NEED to do aerobic exercises as well? Or will doing “Core And More” be enough to lower my body fat percentage by 2-3%?

**Please answer ALL of my questions**
Thank You!

Answer:

You misunderstood. To excel at any sport requires your torso, core muscles be strong. That has nothing to do with the amount of fat you also carry. At 14% you are only slightly above ideal, but if you have been exercising, well within competitive levels. If I were you, I would be more concerned with the rehabilitation on my arm. I do not see any problem with your core groups. Hope you make it back on the team!

Answer:

Click here for free toning exercises from Bodylastics. They have a workout show on their website called Bodylastics Toning and since they’ve been recording this show for over 2 years now, you’ll have tons of free workouts. You might also like to check out the Pilates and Yoga classes to strengthen your core muscles. You don’t need any kind of expensive equipment, just a set of Bodylastics resistance bands. Some of the exercises you can do without bands, but by using the added resistance, you’ll lose that belly fat faster.

roughly about 53 minutes. Would results show up faster? i weigh 115 and am looking to lose as much as 15 pounds. Its the carmen electra dvd “fit to strip” the seconds one from the series. BTW im 15. can you recomend a dvd that shows results quick?
53 minutes long.

Answer:

It’s not a good idea to workout the same muscles so quickly between workouts, but that DVD looks like it’s mostly cardio. If you have all the time in the world to do it, then go for it.

Click here for some more free workouts when you get bored with your DVD.
