Chest Exercises Are Hurting My Arms

I have a question

So when I do exercises such as flys/butterflies/pushups, my arms hurt a lot more (and is the main reason for giving in and stopping the exercise) than my chest, which is what the exercises are targeting. I actually feel nothing at all in my chest. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? I just started taking workout out every other day after school about 2 weeks ago and this is still happening.
Thanks.
