Exercises to work the area of the chest just below the nipple
I’m a male who has been working out for about 6 years now. I have a mostly decently developed chest, however just underneath the nipples is soft (not hard like most of the rest of my chest). Are there exercises I can do to build up muscle there?

By “below”, do you mean underneath the skin of the nipple? Remember, there is a layer of fat and gland over the top of the muscle. It’s not just skin covering muscle. I can give you some chest exercises, but isolated exercises won’t help with fat loss. For really effective fat loss, you need total body workouts to get as much muscle involved as possible to boost the body’s natural fat burning engine.
