How to get 6 pack abs at home?
Question:
I’m 5’9 and I weigh about 130ish. My friend says I shouldn’t worry about dieting and to just focus on ab workouts… I’m pretty sure he’s wrong about that. I’ve always heard “6 pack abs are 95% diet and 5% exercises”… If I do need to diet, let me know and give me tips on what to eat!… also, list what ab workouts work the best and how much cardio to do!
Answer:
If you’re packing a layer of fat around your mid-section, all the ab exercises in the world won’t make you lose that fat. Yes, you’ll get great abs… underneath the fat. So you are correct, diet plays a big part in it.
Working out your entire body will get you that 6-pack faster than anything. You want to build muscle all over. The more muscle you have, the faster you’ll lose the fat. Don’t forget the legs because they are the largest muscles in the body. And don’t ignore your back. You need a strong back when that 6-pack starts pulling on the front of your frame.
A lot of people think that you’ll just replace the fat with muscle that you’ll still be big or weigh just as much. Granted a pound of feathers weighs the same as a pound of lead. Same thing with fat. A pound of fat weighs the same as a pound of muscle, but a pound of fat has way more volume than a pound of muscle. So if you replace a pound of fat with a pound of muscle, you will be thinner in inches. Weighing yourself is a poor way to judge fat loss. Measuring yourself is how you want to do it.
