I have cellulite, how can I tone up?

Question:
Hello! So here’s my deal: I am about 5’1″ or 2″, 106 lbs, and I am NOT in shape. With my clothes on, I look fine. But my arms, legs, butt, and tummy are not in the tip top condition I’d like them to be. I just don’t what to do. I keep hearing “diet and exercise,” but I don’t want to LOSE weight. I’m not sure how this works, and I am really having a hard time finding an answer to what I need to do. I’m little, but I’m mushy. I’m thin, but it’s like there’s cushion all over… and that would be fine if I didn’t have what appears to be cellulite on my butt and upper thighs: I’m only 20!! I’ve just been so busy the past few years with school that I skipped out on exercising altogether. I don’t weigh much at all, and I’m afraid that if I start trying to “burn fat,” I’ll be a stick. I’m thin, but I am not muscular. I know I keep repeating myself, but I don’t want the cookie cutter “diet and exercise, you’ve got a layer of fat over everything!” answer. Help, please!

Try some muscle building, too.  And eat lean protein to feed the muscle.  You want to keep that muscle on your frame.  Don’t worry about bulking up.  Women don’t have the testosterone to bulk up like men.  You’ll end up with a lean and toned body with no more “cushion”.

Have you tried some walking?  When I walk, all that dimply cellulite goes away.  I tend to stay in the house all winter long and when the weather gets nice, I’ll walk around my neighborhood at least a mile a day, sometimes twice if the temperature is still nice in the evening.  (I’m a wuss when it comes to cold and heat.)  I can see visible results after a couple of weeks.  My legs and hips are less jiggly and the fat dimples vanish.
