I work out and am trying to gain some muscle will pilates or yoga be good?
A Visitor Asks This Question:
I’m a 20 yr old male 165lbs 5’11. I am in pretty good shape, play a bunch of sports like baseball and hockey. I’m interested in getting in the best shape I can while putting on some muscle. I am looking into taking a pilates or yoga class. Are there any positives or negatives that I should think about before starting?
I forgot to mention that I lift weights 3-4 days a week.

Pilates is not for building muscle. You need muscle building workouts for building muscle – low reps, high resistance. Here’s what pilates does: gives you a strong core, flat abs, strong back, long & lean muscles with flexibility. Improves athletic performance and helps prevent injuries. In short, it’s focus is on strengthening and toning.
However, you can do both pilates and build muscle with resistance bands.
If you’re not sure how to get started, click here for free workouts to do both. Here are the resistance bands used in the workouts.
They will give you lean muscle,
if you realy want to bulk up, lift weights.
