Leg Exercises to Regain Muscle After Injury

Q: I recently injured my right ankle and was on crutches for a couple of months now and i’ve lost a lot of muscle in my right leg.  What kind of exercises can I do at my home to help gain all that muscle back?

A:  Muscle loss from non-use and be remedied with strength training and protein.  I suggest getting one of those 2 lb tubs of protein mix (isolated whey protein) in the diet/muscle section of Target or Walmart.  You don’t need a fancy brand.  You need protein to feed the new muscle you’re going to build with Bodylastics resistance bands.  That’s the only equipment you’ll need.  No expensive machines or bulky weights, just the bands.  Click here to see some of the leg exercises that you can do with them.
