Do you have to do a lot of reps in order to get a 6 pack?
Question:
Or can you do a set of 10 about 3 or 4 times and that’s it. The magazines(Maximum Fitness) tell you that you only need to do about 3 to 4 sets of 10. Is everybody’s body different or do you have to do a lot of reps. Someone said in an article once, “Would you do 50 to 75 bicep curls? Of course not, so why would you do 50 to 75 reps of a ab exercise?” It made me think, hmmm….? So what is the truth on this?
Answer:
Maximum Fitness is correct. Low reps, BUT you have to use the right amount of resistance. How much is the right amount? By the 10th rep, you should be barely able to do that last rep.
By the way, all the ab exercises in the world won’t show that 6-pack if you have a layer of fat hiding them. Isolation exercises like ab workouts only target those specific muscles, not the fat over the muscles. You can’t target fat loss. You body loses fat all over.
