Beginner Arm Exercises: How Much Resistance Should I Use?

 

I have a question

I am new to arm exercises and trying to banish the batwings! I have some 2lb weights, and I guess they’re good for pumping up the heart rate with aerobic exercise, but what weight range should I use for arm exercises? 5lbs? 10lbs? Advice PLEASE! :-)

I want SOME muscle, but NOT anything like a bodybuilder woman.. Just enough for some definition, sort of like Angela Basset or Madonna. (But I’m fat right now so I won’t look sinewy like them) Just want to get the metabolism burning, but not end up looking like He-Man, getting stretch marks or anything nasty like that.
