How often should I let my muscles “rest and repair” between resistance band workouts?
Question:
I heard that once a week, or every other day? Why? I want to build and tone my muscles, but I don’t go crazy on myself, either.
I’d say I do “medium” intensity workouts. I actually do the Slim in 6 videos, “Ramp it up” to be specific. I do what I can.
Answer:
Skip a day between workouts at a medium intensity. If you work harder with more resistance, then maybe even 2 days. When you stress your muscles with resistance training, tiny little microscopic tears in the muscles develop. Sounds bad, but it’s a good thing. However, you have to give your muscles a chance to repair those tears, hence the rest between workouts. During repair, you’ll grow new, strong muscle fibers.
resistance bands are an excellent way to build and tone muscles. When you get bored with the Slim in 6 workouts or want to change it up a bit… or a lot… click here for free resistance bands workouts from Bodylastics.
