Tone Without Joining A Gym

What is the best way to tone without joining a gym? I am a 23 year old female with what I guess you would call an average size build. Like every girl, I do have some problem areas though. My concerns are stomach and legs, mainly thighs. What are the best ways to tone these areas without bulking up with muscle? I have a treadmill at home. How do I use it properly so I tone but dont get bigger with muscle? I don’t want to join a gym either.

I’d suggest a combination of yoga and free weights . If you use the free weight to do exercises like lunging etc with a low weight but a lot of reps, you will see muscle toning without adding bulk. Resistance exercise will actually help you lose weight too!
Darling you won’t get big with muscle… for one.. you don’t have enough testosterone… second, you are proposing to do cardio and to get any bulk you need to be doing some weight lifting.
If your treadmill has hills.. put it on the steepest hill and walk at around 5 – 6km/h and walk for 40 minutes… then cool off on flat for 10 minutes… every day. In 6 months time, you will be well on the way to getting the sweatest toosh this side of Canada ~ that is only if you combine that exercise with a reasonable diet ~ try fresh fruit and vegetables and fresh home cooked meat.
You won’t bulk up if you use a treadmill. You won’t bulk up unless you really try to by lifting weights and eating tons of protein. You should get one of those exercise balls and a tape or book to go with it– theyre really amazing, you can do a thousand exercises with them or something.
