I want to start working out but have a weak lower back. What exercises can I do to help make it stronger? I have a weights bench, dumbells, barbells etc. I find it hard to even hold a barbell while standing up, how can I get started on my back so that I am not limited in my workouts.
If your back hurts using a barbell, make sure you keep your knees soft and do NOT arch your back. Let your legs and arms do the work. That back arching thing will kill your back and you’ll be sore for weeks. Been there, done that. The same advise also goes for dancers, especially belly dancing.
