What types of exercises for arms can I do at home?

 

Question:

I can’t go to the gym but I have my own cardio equipment. I’m trying to do weight training by using my own body weight as resistance. I’ve been doing push ups and I can really feel it on the sides of my upper back and outer arms. What else can I do to work different sets of muscles in my arms with out buying weights, just using myself, to change it up?

    I use a lot of resistance bands for my back. They are very easy to use and you can take them anywhere you go. Try use them to build your arms and you will see the difference. I use them while sitting on a chair watching TV. Good luck !

    Dips of the edge of a chair. For added resistance you can elevate your feet.

    Push ups with your elbows going back – place your arms directly under your shoulders when in the push up position. When going down, make sure your elbows bend going backwards and your arms stay close to your torso. Hits triceps good.

    Floor Dips – start by sitting on your butt on the floor feet straight out in front of you. Place your hands, with your fingers pointing forward, next to and butt and slightly back. Raise your butt off the flloor and straighten out your body a bit. Bend yor arms until you barely touch the floor then go back up.

    Chair curls – using the kitchen chair, grip the backrest so that your palms are facing each other. Those arm hammer curls. Do your reps by curling your arms up then down. Use a 3 second count going up and 3 coming down.

    Couch curls – stand at the end of the couch, squat down and pick it up by the bottom and stand up with arms straight. Curl the couch up for reps. You can superset it with the chair curls.
